guntur-nalgondaTelangana State seem to be playing Cat and Mouse game with the Krishna River Board. After the Board’s instructions to stop the power production in Srisailam Left Canal and save water for Summer, Telangana has decreased the power production from Srisailam project from Friday and to compensate the loss has increased the power production from Nagarjuna Sagar project.

Telangana has produced close to 15 million units of power from this project on Friday. This move of Telangana state will not only deplete the water reserves for the coming summer but also will result in submergence of more villages in Nalgonda district. Due to the excess water released from Nagarjuna Sagar, Pulichintala Irrigation Project is already submerged and water is logged in few villages of Guntur districts.

If Telangana releases two more TMCs of water from the project, four villages of Nalgonda will get submerged.
