'Pesarattu'Film making is taking new turns and aspiring film makers are trying and experimenting with new ways to bring in a revolutionary change. The traditional set up of film making is controlled by a few and huge amount of money that goes into the making of a movie has become literally gambling, unsure who might turn either a pauper or a king overnight.

The new generation isn’t going to give in for the lack of huge investments. Out of many trial and error methods, crowd funding concept is one which is gaining importance these days. Upcoming film maker Mahesh Kathi’s film ‘Pesarattu’ is the first ever crowd funded film in Tollywood. He got all his actors and technicians through his social networking site. Nikita Narayan is the only paid actress (a token payment) on board.

Can you guess how Mahesh got finances for his film? He posted the story synopsis of the film he is going to make on his social site and invited online investors. He got 12 producers on board who doled out amounts ranging from Rs.50,000 to 12,00,000. New principles of film making; collective ownership, collaboration and mutual cooperation played a big part to make this movie possible. The whole concept of ‘Pesarattu’ revolves round a girl who is commitment phobic.
