rajamouli baahubali movieFor Bollywood big films, 100 crore club has become a normal thing. Movies like ‘Dhoom 3’, ‘Krish 3’ and ‘Bang Bang’ have set up new bench marks and at present Bollywood trade pundits are talking nothing less than 300 and 400 crore clubs. For Tollywood, 100 crore club still is a forbidden fruit.

There was a time once when 100 crore club also seemed to be distant dream. Then came Rajamouli’s ‘Magadheera’ to rewrite the box-office collections record in Tollywood. The world wide collections of the historic film are said to be around Rs.70 crores. This figure might be very far away from 100 crores, but atleast it gave Tollywood Cinema the hope to dream about 100 crore club.

Then like a silent storm came Trivikram-Pawan’s combination ‘Attarintiki Daredi’. It broke all records and made many new records scoring industry hit for Telugu Film Industry. The net share of the movie reached Rs. 80 crore plus giving more hope that 100 crore club isn’t anymore a myth to Tollywood.

This is going on like a relay race and the baton is handed over rightfully to Tollywood number one director Rajamouli once again. ‘Baahubali’ being made with huge budget of over Rs. 100 crores seems to be designed to make it to the 100 crore club and even more big with Rajamouli’s style of scripting and the universal appeal. As the movie is going to be released in two parts, trade pundits of Tollywood are optimistic that the two parts together may reach even Rs. 300 crore mark.

Rajamouli’s intelligent design to release the movie in as many different languages as possible all over India besides targetting overseas market also is acting as feelers that Prabhas’ ‘Baahubali’ is going to give Tollywood one of the most memorable movies in terms of box-office collections apart from making an example of unmatched prowess at film making. Let’s hope the dream comes true very soon.
