Whenever there is a subject which touches the issue of Pakistan or portrays their citizens allegedly in bad light, the country makes sure that, that particular Bollywood movie doesn’t reach audiences in Pakistan.
Bollywood upcoming movie ‘Neerja’ starring Sonam Kapoor is the latest one to face the ban as it is based upon the real life incident in which a flight was hijacked in Pakistan airport, and the flight attendant who saved 359 passengers was killed by the hijackers.
This incident took place in 1986. Pakistan banned the movie even before the makers of the Bollywood movie sent it for film certification. The film’s promos instigated the authorities to think Pak is presented in poor light in the movie.
