The upcoming film of young star in Bollywood, Shahid Kapoor, is on the mercy of Censor board. The film which deals with drugs and its addiction in Punjab is getting a hard time being passed by the board.
Udta Punjab according to makers is a film that showcases the drug mafia like never before seen on big screen. It is filled with drug abuse and profanities as close to reality as possible. While the makers insist that it would not sensationalize and show a brutal and honest picture, the Censor board doesn’t seem to heed to them. They have suggested more than 40 cuts for the film.
With so many cuts the makers feel the film would lose its purpose. They have now approached a tribunal where they are hoping the film gets A rating without any cuts. We have to wait and see what decision tribunal comes up with.
